Lifestyle Fitness was founded in 2006, a part time business to share my passion for fitness with clients in a one-on-one format. It’s gratifying to help clients achieve their fitness goals without becoming bored of their workout routines. I have enjoyed this opportunity to refine my coaching skills and to evolve my focus towards providing clients with sound programs that are functional, yet fun.
My focus is on small group training, for people that enjoy sharing a bond with like minded fitness enthusiasts. I am excited to share my newest passion: OCR (Obstacle Course Racing). Training for OCR requires running skills, strength, balance, coordination and specific learned skills. Lifestyle Fitness will be Monterey County’s first obstacle course training ground.
Christina Johnson, Owner/Coach
I grew up in Wisconsin in an era before computers, PS2 and cell phones. I spent my time running and exploring the woodlands by my house. I enjoyed skating (roller and ice) and loved track and field events – excelling at 200 meter/400 meter runs & broad jumps. I graduated college with an A.S. Degree in Radiologic Technology and currently work at a local hospital. After graduating college, I fell back in love with running and trained for the Victoria, BC Marathon. I discovered my passion for Martial Arts. I trained for amateur Muay Thai fighting with Adam Rogers ,original owner of Body Worx DoJo. I spent a year learning boxing skills under Clarence at Body Worx in Seaside, Ca. Fighting in a ring requires discipline that demands not only physical capabilities, but time. I came into the sport late in life and realized I could not give it the time it demanded. This is the point when I knew I wanted to share my passion for fitness and martial arts with others.
Education and certifications are important aspects of my business, it ensures safety and effective training results for my clients. I have an Associate Degree in Exercise Science with an emphasis on personal training. I am a Certified Personal Trainer with NESTA (National Exercise & Sports Trainers Association) and The ISSA (International Sports Science Association). I enjoy learning and have spent years educating myself about personal training, nutrition, exercise therapy, strength and conditioning. I have learned how to train clients from youth to seniors, using Martial art and boxing skills, kettlebells, sandbags, clubbells ,TRX, Rings and more. I continue to evolve, adding new skills and equipment knowledge into my tool box. FITNESS IS FUN and boring workouts are not in my vocabulary.
